Your licence key will be in your purchase confirmation email. This page walks you through activation, your first report, and what to do if anything does not go to plan.
Your licence key is a long string beginning with key/. It looks like this:
key/ prefix at the start. Copy and paste directly from your email to avoid errors. If the key field appears to truncate the display, that is normal — the full value is still stored correctly. The first activation requires an internet connection to verify your key with the licence server. After that, the app will work offline for up to 14 days before requiring revalidation.
Double-click the application. The licence activation screen appears automatically on first launch. If you are on macOS and see a security warning, right-click the app and choose Open, then click Open again. This is a one-time step.
Copy your key from the purchase confirmation email and paste it into the licence field. Click Activate. Validation takes a few seconds. On success, the main application window opens immediately.
Your licence is stored on this machine. You will not be asked again unless you move to a new machine or deactivate via File → Deactivate Licence. Follow the journey guide to run your first report.
Most problems are caused by a missing key/ prefix, a connectivity issue, or a machine mismatch. The cards below cover the most common errors.
Copy and paste the full key from your email, including the key/ prefix. Check there are no spaces before or after the key.
A connection is required for first-time activation. Connect to the internet and try again. If you are connected and still seeing this, try disabling a VPN if one is active.
Each licence activates on one machine at a time. Use File → Deactivate Licence on the old machine first. If you no longer have access, contact support@trustedmarc.co.uk.
Contact support@trustedmarc.co.uk with your licence key and we will investigate. Usually resolved within one business day.
Reconnect to the internet and relaunch the application. Validation happens automatically and the application will open as normal.
This is expected if the domain you entered does not appear in your report files. Check the spelling, or leave the filter blank to see all available domains.
Check the log in the application window for the specific message. The most common cause is an empty folder or files that are not valid DMARC aggregate reports.
Right-click the application and choose Open, then click Open again in the dialog. This is a one-time step for apps distributed outside the Mac App Store.
Once you are activated, these pages will help you get the most out of TrustedMARC.
